CBD User’s Guide
CBD: What it is and why it matters.
We all were born with an endocannabinoid system (ECS). Scientist discovered our ECS in the 1990’s. Our ECS is present though out our entire body and is involved in almost all brain and body functions including your immune and nervous systems.
Receptors that make up your endocannabinoid system throughout your body work together to keep your body in homeostasis, a balanced internal state needed for optimal health. Research continues to suggest amazing benefits that come from a fully nourished Endocannabinoid System.
CBD stands for Cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is extracted from the Hemp plant. When ingested, CBD works directly with your ECS’s system of receptors that are located throughout your body.
CBD is also found naturally in Black Pepper, Flax Seeds, Rosemary, Dark Chocolate and Black Truffles just to name a few!
Hemp is not Marijuana and Marijuana is not Hemp! They are both in the Cannabis plant family which has many species. Hemp is non-intoxicating and does not make you high. It is also Legal under 2018 Hemp Farm Bill.
CBD products are NOT all the same! The purity of ingredients, quality of formulation greatly impacts CBD Products. Fleur Botanicals is proud to have been issued a Certificate of Free Sale and Manufactured Food Establishment License by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE). We have a clean, organic, broad spectrum product that has 3 ingredients. Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Eco Friendly Farmed, THC Free, Good Manufacturing Practices Compliant, Halal and Kosher Certified. Our products are lab tested and results can be found in our store and online on our website where you can match your product and batch number to it’s lab results.
Dosing is one of the most important steps to learn how CBD could work for you. Start with a low dose and work your way up slowly taking time to note what you felt or didn’t feel. As a basic suggestion, starting with 1mg CBD per 15-20 pounds, is a place to start. Stick with one product and try each dose for 2-4 days gradually increasing your CBD intake until you achieve the desired effects. In our world of immediate gratification, this step proves to be difficult for some. The trick is to be patient and pay attention to your mind and body. We cannot offer medical advice and always suggest talking to your physician if you have any questions or concerns.
There are 4 delivery methods of CBD:
Vaporization directly enters the bloodstream and has a rapid onset of action with the highest bioavailability absorption and lasts from 2-4 hours.
Sublingual has a high absorption rate when put under the tongue, held for 1 minute and swallowed. It takes affect 30 minutes to and hour and can last up to 7 hours with strong bioavailability.
Ingestible CBD like in a softgel or gummy, the CBD passes through your digestive system and have a bit of a delayed onset but are longer lasting. Typically this would be a moderate bioavailability, but Fleur Botanicals Softgels and Gummies have a nanoemulsion CBD which provides the maximum bioavailability for maximum absorbtion.
Topicals provide local relief through receptors found on the skin and directly targets the desired area. Again, Fleur uses nanoemulsion CBD to provide a super high absorption in our balm for fast and long lasting results.
